Hi *|FNAME|*, I hope things have been going well since the [Course Name]. A few weeks on, it’s often the perfect time to pause and reconnect with the core intent of the Investment Management Standard (IMS) — why it exists and what makes it so powerful when applied well. At its heart, the IMS isn’t just a process for developing business cases — it’s a disciplined way of thinking that: Keeps focus on problems, benefits, and priorities before jumping to solutions. Builds a clear and logical investment story that others can understand and endorse. Encourages shared ownership through structured, evidence-based conversations. Supports better investment decisions, stronger benefit realisation, and clearer prioritisation over time.
To help reinforce these principles, I’ve attached the four Facilitator Tips and Traps guides — one for each workshop in the IMS suite. Each provides a wealth of practical insights drawn from experience facilitating IMS discussions for a wide range of projects and initiatives. Click here to view If you’re revisiting the framework or applying it in your organisation, I encourage you to carry forward the principles of the IMS — focusing on clear logic, collaboration, and evidence-based thinking in every project or initiative. P.S. If you’d like to stay in touch or share reflections from applying IMS, I always enjoy hearing how people are using the framework within their organisations. |
