This is 2 day in-person training course providing coverage of the Investment Management Standard and the two workshops in the IMS suite. The course combines the Part 1 and 2 courses including all the learning materials and exercises into one program. This is a concentrated experience for individuals and organisations wanting to make clear, logical, evidence-based investment decisions. It is aimed at prospective facilitators, strategists, business case writers, project managers, policy officers, and those involved with evaluation.
Across the session, we revisit the foundational elements that support strong investment logic:
Clear problem definition using the cause-and-effect frame, with validated evidence and tested causality
Well-aligned benefits anchored in organisational service expectations
Meaningful KPIs that are measurable and attributable
Simple, logical and single-threaded ILMs that tell a clear, compelling story
Strategic response development explored through the three lenses: demand, productivity and supply
Solution definition that aligns with the strategic intent and addresses the underlying problem
This refresher is ideal for practitioners who want to reconnect with the IMS approach, strengthen their confidence, and ensure consistent, high-quality ILMs, benefits maps and investment logic across their organisation.
